Thanksgiving Pies
I just helped my 13 year old daughter, Katie, make her very first pumpkin pie. They are still in the oven, so I don't know how they turned out, but the house smells heavenly! In honor of the occasion, I thought I would post pictures of some pies that I made last week. They don't smell nearly as good and I sure hope Katie's pies taste better, but I think they are cute.

Lil' Brown Sugars
I am so excited about an opportunity that has come my way. At a recent show that I did, a really cute girl saw my booth and emailed me. She is opening a bakery in Santaquin and will have a small gift shop area. She wanted to know if I was interested in selling my hats in her shop. I have never offered my stuff in a store before, but I thought I would give it a try.
The bakery is Lil' Brown Sugars Bakery. Amy and I stopped by today to drop off our stuff and it is adorable. In addition to having baked goods, she will have a little gift shop area, an espresso bar, and a lunch menu. It isn't open quite yet- she is waiting for the last of her construction to be finished- but it will be open by the end of this week. Amy and I can't wait to go back down after it is open to have lunch.
The address is:
340 East Main #1 Santaquin, UT, 84655
It is really easy to find. It is just off of the Santaquin exit on I-15.
So, if anyone is in the Santaquin area, or driving through on your way to somewhere else, be sure to stop by for a salad or cupcake and check it out!

Short Stack
We have a tradition in our family. Every time the kids have an event at school, like a parent teacher conference or band concert, we finish the evening with a pancake dinner at IHOP. It started out as a way to eat out on the cheap (expecially when they were running their kids eat free special) but it turned into a tradition that we all love. This little creation is in honor of many, many pancake meals enjoyed together by my family.
On another note, I currently have a booth at the Kottage Kupboard Boutique's "Candy Cane Lane" Christmas show. The details can be found on my sidebar. If you are in the Ogden area, stop by and check out the show. There is always some seriously good shopping to be found at this show and there is just over a month until Christmas!

My New Models
I haven't done much posting on my blog lately because I was working on a big project- making new models for my stuff. After 9 long months of some serious crafting, they were finally ready to make their debut. Meet Chloe Eva and Dominique Samantha. Here they are modeling the latest in baby fashion- hats with bear ears. All of the babies will be wearing them this season. Don't let your little one be the only one at the playgroup wearing one of those boring hats without ears.
Unless they are wearing this. Beanie hats are a classic- they never go out of style. The thing that makes mine unique is the cute scalloped edge around the bottom. You will see a lot of imitators out there; crappy hats that are mass produced in a factory in China by an 8-year-old. I see them at every show where I have a booth. Trust me, my handmade hats are far superior and you won't have to feel guilty about human rights violations every time your child wears their hat.
Stepping down off my soapbox. See how cute the tops of their little heads are? I spend hours a day just staring at my new little models, thinking about what a good job I did in making them cute.
Speaking of cute, I still plan to use my old model whenever possible. She gets paid in flower clippies for that fabulous head of hair.
Awww.... they're so cute when they are sleeping. Check out that huge ladybug rattle in front of them. It's really quite a small rattle, but the babies only weighed about five pounds each when this picture was taken so it looks big in comparison.
As you can see, Chloe and Dominique have been hard at work since the moment they were born. They even went with me to several farmer's markets and craft shows for some live modeling gigs. The only problem was, people we to busy admiring the babies to even look at the stuff that I was selling so I had to fire them. Now they stay at home with daddy whenever possible.
I am all geared up for the Christmas season. I have updated the list of shows were I will have a booth and will be adding several new listings to my Etsy shop. Stop by and take a look!!!

Pink Flower Choices
These are some light pink flower options to go with the black baby beanie. I photographed the flowers on the actual hat to give you an idea of the size in proportion to the hat. The picture quality isn't the greatest, but it is the best I can do with my camera. Choice #1: This flower has light pink petals on the outside with white daisy petals on the inside. The center is a small white flower with a pink jewel center.
Choice #2: This flower isn't quite as light as the others, but I thought I would give you options. It is still a pretty pastel pink. The white petals in the center have a little glitter on the edges and the center of the flower is a pink pearl.
Choice #3: This flower has really pale pink daisy petals on the outside. The white petals in the middle have the slightly glittered edges. The center is a brad with a pink and white geometric design. I wish it photographed better, but it is a really cute flower.
Choice #4: This flower has the same pale pink petals as the last one, but the white petals don't have the glitter edges. The center of this flower is a pink pearl.
Choice #5: This flower has the same light pink petals as the first flower, but it also includes the white glitter petals. The pearl in the center of this one is white.

Kottage Kupboard Boutique
It is time for the Kottage Kupboard Spring Boutique! I am so excited! Don't let all of the superfluous K's in the name deter you. This is one of my favorite shows because the shopping is so fantastic there. It is also a dangerous show, because it is really hard to not spend more than I earn. The other vendors are so incredibly talented and they have such unique and well-made items. It almost makes me feel inadequate when I walk in the door. Almost.
We set up for the show yesterday afternoon and I already found several items that I want to purchase. I found the cutest little pair of sandals for Nadia. I bought shoes for Nadia from this same vendor at the Christmas show, and they have been the best pair of shoes I ever bought. They do have squeakers in them which I promptly removed because the only people who think that hearing a squeak every time their kids take a step is adorable are the delusional parents of that child. Everyone else is just annoyed by it. Anyhow, I am really hoping that the sandals are there when I go back after the show is open. I was tempted to take them and hide them so that nobody else would get to them first! The guy who makes gourmet jellies and carmel sauces is there too, and I won't have to resort to any devious behaviors to get my hands on a jar of yummy carmel pecan sauce. Maybe my mom would like one for Mother's Day. Hmmm....
The other booths are also fabulous. I don't think I will be winning any "Best Booth" awards at this show. (Speaking of which, Amy actually remembered to take pictures of our "Award Winning Booth Design" which I will post as soon as I have a copy of the photos!) After Amy and I finished setting up our booth yesterday, we wandered around a little bit and looked at some of the other booths and were so impressed at the fancy booth designs that we saw. But the sound of the power tools required to put these fabulous booths together was enough to deter us from wanting to go in that direction. At least we can take our entire booth apart by hand and fit it in one HUGE bag.
If you would like to check out the fabulousness that is this show, I have all of the info on the sidebar to the right. It opens today and runs through Saturday. It is at the Golden Spike Event Center in North Ogden. It is worth the drive!

Blue Goose Boutique
Amy and I will have a booth at the Blue Goose Boutique this week. I just set up the booth this morning. When I say I, I mean Amy did all of the heavy lifting and carrying of dozens of bins while I put the table cloths on the tables. I was complaining about how I couldn't carry any heavy stuff because of the twins when a lady, who is at least as pregnant as I am, walked by pushing a cart loaded up with about 15 wire mesh racks and four huge bins full of stuff. Boy, didn't I feel stupid. Anyhow, I digress.
This show looks like it will be a really fun one with lots of talented vendors. I can't wait to stop by once it is all set up and see what all of the other vendors have to offer. I saw lots of familiar faces from vendors who have been in some of the shows we did last year, but I also saw lots of new faces too.
Our "Princess Shack" is looking better than ever, all decked out for spring! It is hard to miss our booth. It is the only one with a roof that stands a couple feet higher than any other booth at the show. There are flower garlands climbing the poles of the roof and a fancy chandelier dangling from the center. The booth gets slightly more elaborate every time we set it up. I didn't bring my camera this morning, but I will take pictures when I stop by the show on Friday so that I can post pictures of our handiwork. Here are the details of the show so everybody can stop by and check it out. I guess if you are one of my fans from Europe or Australia, I will just have to understand if you can't make it.
Remember: The best way to celebrate TAX DAY is a major spending spree on cute boutique stuff!

Flower Choices to go with Ladybug Dress
These are the flowers that I made to go with the black beanie hat and yellow ladybug dress. I took the photos on a background of the actual fabric that the dress is made from so that you can get an idea of what it all looks like together. Please forgive my photography skills. When I am rich and famous, I will invest in a really nice camera. Until then, this is what you get. Choice 1: This is my personal favorite. You can't tell in this photo, but the ladybug in the center of the flower is glittery. So cute! The yellow petals on the outside don't lay completely flat, but I think that is part of the charm in this flower.
Choice 2: This is more of an orangey sunflower look. The flower has a pearl center. The yellow in the fabric is a darker yellow-orange, so flowers with a combination of yellows and orange look good with it.
Choice 3: This flower has many layers of ruffly petals. Each layer is a little darker than the last, with a big, shiny crystal in the middle. Did I mention that I love things that sparkle and shine?
Choice 4: This is an all-yellow flower for all of you orange-haters out there. There is a pearl in the center of this one as well. This flower has a combination of rounded, ruffled, and pointed petals, to keep the textures interesting.
Choice 5: Very similar to choice 2, but this one is more yellow than orange and it has that big crystal "bling" in the center.
Choice 6: I added this one because I thought I would give a more traditional "daisy" choice. This one has large daisy petals on the outside, with smaller daisy petals on the inside and the big crystal.

Flower Choices
These are the flowers that I made to go on the white hat to match the cute eyelet dress from Polka Dots and Posies. They all have a pearl in the center. Please forgive my photography skills (or lack, thereof!). The colors are not as true-to-life in these photos as they are in the professional photographs with the eyelet dress. Choice 1: This flower is white around the outside layered with pink and white petals. The inner white petals have glittery edges. The photo doesn't do it justice. It shows up better on the hat because of the different textures. Choice 2: Similar to first one, but it doesn't have the glittery white petals in the middle and the pink is slightly darker.
Choice 3: This has a light pink on the outside with the glittery white and a darker pink in the middle.
Choice 4: This one is as close to the original flower in my hat listing as I could get with the materials I had available. The outer petals are exactly like the ones in the listing and the inside layers are similar with the pearl center.
Choice 5: OK-I lied. This one doesn't have a pearl center. It has a silver metalic brad in the center. But I think the all pink flower would be cute with the white hat and white eyelet dress for Easter. I can't change the center because everything is already glued into place, but I thought I would give you this option because it is cute, too.

Kottage Kupboard
I am really excited to announce the first show of my spring line-up. I will have a booth at the Kottage Kupboard Mother's Day show May 5-8 at the Golden Spike Arena in Ogden, Utah.
You can get more info on this show, including hours and directions, by visiting their website at http://www.kottagekupboard.com/.
I participated in their Christmas show last year and it was one of the funnest shows that I did all year. There are a ton of really great vendors with really fun booth displays. They have a rigorous screening process for vendors that participate in their show, so the quality of items sold at the show is really high. I had a hard time not spending more than I made at the last show because there were so many fun things to buy.
I will have a really light show schedule for the spring and I will probably not be doing any shows over the summer, but I plan to have a full line-up in the fall. So, if you want to stop by and see my goods before fall, this will be one of your only chances!
On a different note, the pregnancy is going well and I found out this week that I will be having two girls! I am excited because this means I will have two new models for all of my fun stuff! My poor teenage boy will really learn to understand girls, growing up the only boy with four little sisters. I told him that he will make a great husband someday.

Yep! I'm still here!
I haven't updated for a while. The holiday season was crazy for me. I did a lot of really great shows and was very busy with orders from my Etsy shop. It was a great time of growth and I also learned a lot. I will be much better prepared for the holiday rush next year.
After I got my last order shipped the week of Christmas, I got some exciting news. I am pregnant again! But the excitement doesn't stop there. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was having twins, so when I went to the doctor for my first appointment, I asked him to check to make sure there was just one baby in there. I will never doubt my gut feelings again. I am having identical twins, due in August.
I still plan on growing my little business while I grow my little babies, but I will be slowing down a bit. My Etsy shop is alive and well and I plan to add new items soon, now that I have time to sit down and create new patterns. I am also looking into some spring boutiques and will be announcing my spring lineup soon. Please stay tuned during this exciting time while both my business and family grow!
