I work from home and care for my five kids and hubby. I make one-of-a-kind crochet toys and hats. I have too many ideas floating around my head to contain, so I thought I would share them with the world.Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.comBlogger47125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-4085523434772713902012-03-17T23:39:00.000-06:002012-03-17T23:39:06.912-06:00Pink and White flowers<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">These are some of the options I have for the pink and white flowers. They are photographed against the toddler size white hat so that you will get a sense of the scale of the flower in proportion to the hat. These were taken at night with less than optimal lighting, so if there are any that you would like a better picture of, I won't be offended.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2zK_GTXVegE/T2VyKK-KiwI/AAAAAAAAAUI/Wqdp7iQv6cM/s1600/100_3748.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2zK_GTXVegE/T2VyKK-KiwI/AAAAAAAAAUI/Wqdp7iQv6cM/s320/100_3748.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
#1. This is actually the flower that was in the listing for the white hat on the baby that was standing. It is a medium shade of pink with layers of white and pink in the middle and a large crystal in the center.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EZTNmWz80ao/T2VyMbvYcvI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/q3aI9K7CZUs/s1600/100_3749.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EZTNmWz80ao/T2VyMbvYcvI/AAAAAAAAAUQ/q3aI9K7CZUs/s320/100_3749.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
#2. The outer petals on this one are a pale pink. They are followed by a layer of white petals. It is hard to see in the picture, but the white petals actually have a little bit of white glitter on the edges. There are small darker pink petals in the middle with a white pearl.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ConarO4EMuU/T2VyOCaMyQI/AAAAAAAAAUY/3wdmIUl1X2Q/s1600/100_3751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ConarO4EMuU/T2VyOCaMyQI/AAAAAAAAAUY/3wdmIUl1X2Q/s320/100_3751.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
#3. This is a smaller option for you if you feel like the bigger flowers would overwhelm the child's face. It also has a different petal shape besides the daisy. The white petals are the same glitter accented ones that I described above. The center pearl is pink. The pearl is actually a much more subtle pink than it looks in this picture because it reflected the flash when I took the picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q3VNXXuMqzc/T2VyPqnl9eI/AAAAAAAAAUg/v_YgK4Ffor4/s1600/100_3752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q3VNXXuMqzc/T2VyPqnl9eI/AAAAAAAAAUg/v_YgK4Ffor4/s320/100_3752.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>#4. This one is a light pink daisy. The white petals have a really ruffled look. The center is actually a vintage button from my mom's old button jar. It is a pink button with a pearlized finish and a really neat texture. Unfortunately, you can't see any of that in the photo because it reflected my flash. I won't be offended if you want me to take a better picture in natural light when the sun comes up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BjV9R4K1Z5c/T2VyRaoqJJI/AAAAAAAAAUo/H9sFKvo9-dM/s1600/100_3753.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BjV9R4K1Z5c/T2VyRaoqJJI/AAAAAAAAAUo/H9sFKvo9-dM/s320/100_3753.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
#5. This is a pale pink flower. There are a few white daisy petals topped with more pink petals. The center is a fun brad with a pink and white geometric design.</div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-33658568264737531832012-02-06T19:56:00.000-07:002012-02-06T19:56:24.303-07:00Ginormous Flowers<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love this dress! It is one of my favorite creations that Amy has made. Unfortunately, the day of our photo shoot, I don't think Chloe was feeling the love. The really sad thing is that she was the happier of the two babies the day of the photo shoot. Despite the miserable baby in the picture, people seem to recognize how cute the dress is. This week, I have been tasked with making a flower to match this dress for a baby shower. The person wanted a pink flower that was 2-3" big. She likes a pearl in the center and liked the peony style better than the gerber daisy. These are the options I came up with.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MdAAKYMuvxA/TzCPSV_lkZI/AAAAAAAAAUA/yPQYSTdNa8o/s1600/IMG_2945+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" sda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MdAAKYMuvxA/TzCPSV_lkZI/AAAAAAAAAUA/yPQYSTdNa8o/s320/IMG_2945+web.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><br />
#1: This is a hot pink flower with a large white pearl in the center. The bright pink is a close match to the pink flowers in the print.<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EoNC-eKgeos/TzCPDolTHBI/AAAAAAAAATg/e-XmPzR-pgo/s1600/100_3736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EoNC-eKgeos/TzCPDolTHBI/AAAAAAAAATg/e-XmPzR-pgo/s320/100_3736.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>#2 This flower is in the same style as the first one, but it is a lighter pink. I used a pearl with a peachy tone to bring out the oranges in the print.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OXoSwpuF5hU/TzCPNv0Cw7I/AAAAAAAAATo/Ne_tjKHIU0w/s1600/100_3737.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OXoSwpuF5hU/TzCPNv0Cw7I/AAAAAAAAATo/Ne_tjKHIU0w/s320/100_3737.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>#3: This one is a little out of the box, but I just couldn't help myself. This is the same hot pink as the first one, but there is a cluster of orange ruffly petals in the center with a peachy pearl. I just love how the orange and the pink coordinate with the dress.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N87grVVmY50/TzCPPgWmGAI/AAAAAAAAATw/Ex5hO-MwF1U/s1600/100_3738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N87grVVmY50/TzCPPgWmGAI/AAAAAAAAATw/Ex5hO-MwF1U/s320/100_3738.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
#4 This is a lighter pink to contrast with the fabric. The petals are a little more pointy than the other options. The center is actually a brad that is covered in a light fabric that has a really neat texture. I wish I had the photography skills to show off the center, but you will just have to use your imagination.<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0ndJZ2i9EZA/TzCPRrUgRzI/AAAAAAAAAT4/YV9sg_-no5A/s1600/100_3739.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0ndJZ2i9EZA/TzCPRrUgRzI/AAAAAAAAAT4/YV9sg_-no5A/s320/100_3739.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>#5: This is made from the same type of peony that little Chloe is wearing in the photo, but I only used the smaller center petals so that it wouldn't be as huge. It has a white pearl in the center. I do have a couple of the full size ones just like the one in the photo that have either a clear gemstone center or a glittery white center. They are cute, but they are also big.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qqnF2v7--JE/TzCPBmp64KI/AAAAAAAAATY/3Pwld22sIUo/s1600/100_3735.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qqnF2v7--JE/TzCPBmp64KI/AAAAAAAAATY/3Pwld22sIUo/s320/100_3735.jpg" width="320" /></a></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-41269128216607794692011-11-08T20:41:00.000-07:002011-11-08T20:41:47.290-07:00red flowers<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">All of these flowers are a deep red. It is similar to the one above, but it is a bit smaller if you prefer a smaller flower on the baby sized hat. It also has fuller petals.</div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-32513371644339938252011-09-19T13:55:00.000-06:002011-09-19T13:55:02.361-06:00Chef Nadia<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div> When I am at a show, I always hear, at least a dozen times, "These are so cute, but what do you do with them?" They are toys! You play with them! I guess most adults have just completely lost their imagination and don't know what to do with a toy that doesn't talk or light up or tell you how to play with it. But I love watching kids with my toys. They instinctively know exactly what to do. My little Nadia was the perfect example of this at our recent photo shoot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VsJ5smTHxJU/TneclUiMDQI/AAAAAAAAASw/sm1A__9WbXk/s1600/IMG_2429+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" rba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VsJ5smTHxJU/TneclUiMDQI/AAAAAAAAASw/sm1A__9WbXk/s320/IMG_2429+web.jpg" width="240" /></a></div> We had so much fun. We dressed her up in a cute apron and chef hat that Amy made and set her up with some cupcakes and all of the fixings to make them and she went to work while Melinda took pictures.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jh0LbRsgZvw/TneaDszzodI/AAAAAAAAASU/DmeFyTj_8oA/s1600/IMG_2657+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" rba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jh0LbRsgZvw/TneaDszzodI/AAAAAAAAASU/DmeFyTj_8oA/s320/IMG_2657+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> First, she poured the flour into the bowl.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--b1cAGGUSWI/Tneb7V1WJVI/AAAAAAAAASo/ShlP1PkPlps/s1600/IMG_2622+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" rba="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--b1cAGGUSWI/Tneb7V1WJVI/AAAAAAAAASo/ShlP1PkPlps/s320/IMG_2622+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Then she broke some eggs into the bowl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HkXh_9dkDXU/TnecNm0dwiI/AAAAAAAAASs/V7mPN-glZts/s1600/IMG_2603+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" rba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HkXh_9dkDXU/TnecNm0dwiI/AAAAAAAAASs/V7mPN-glZts/s320/IMG_2603+web.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Then she tossed a cupcake with a spatula and whisk, like it was a salad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y93Mf29ssZo/Tnec5WE29cI/AAAAAAAAAS0/MWeId8vNaRg/s1600/IMG_2513+web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" rba="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y93Mf29ssZo/Tnec5WE29cI/AAAAAAAAAS0/MWeId8vNaRg/s320/IMG_2513+web.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>When she was done, TA DA! She was so proud of the pan of cupcakes that she had made and was eager to share them with anyone who would pretend to eat her creation. <br />
<br />
I wish everyone who wonders how to use my toys could see Nadia play with them for a few minutes. They would realize that an imagination is way more fun than any video game on the market.<br />

If you like the flower shape, but not the center, I have this flower available with several different centers.<br />

It was Doug, letting my know that he had a spot for me at Swiss Days. If you have never been, Swiss Days is a huge festival up in Midway that takes place every Labor Day weekend. Huge throngs of people show up and eat Bavarian food while shopping for handcrafted items. Crafters come from all over the west to sell their goods at this show. The competition to get in is pretty steep. Amy and I applied in the spring, but we were placed on the alternate list. We figured we would never hear from them again, so we moved on to plan B for our show schedule and booked other shows. Some of our plans fell through when we didn't get our application in on time for Peach Days and it sold out. We have spent the past couple of days trying to piece together a Plan C. Then, the phone rang. </div><div closure_uid_4ypdud="128"><br />
</div><div closure_uid_4ypdud="128">I just about passed out when I got that phone call last night. I called Amy and asked what she wanted to do. We crunched the numbers and ran scenarios through our mind to decide if we could be ready for a show of that gigantic magnitude in just two weeks. We decided that fate had stepped in and we would skip some of the smaller fall shows so that we could do Swiss Days and still be ready for the Family Christmas Showcase in November. </div><div closure_uid_4ypdud="128"><br />
</div><div closure_uid_4ypdud="128">This means that I will need to crochet until my fingers fall off for the next couple of weeks, but I am really excited to be doing some of these bigger shows this fall! I swear everything in my life happens for a reason. Be sure to check out my revised show schedule on the sidebar of my blog so that you will know where to find me! </div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-74816777070782134772011-08-14T20:28:00.000-06:002011-08-14T20:28:42.991-06:00Country Carousel Boutique<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div closure_uid_f2wv66="135">I will be in Utah County next week for the Country Carousel Boutique. This show has been around for 25 years! I did it two years ago, but I wasn't able to do it last year because my twins were only a few weeks old and I wasn't feeling ambitious enough to do a big show quite yet. </div><div closure_uid_f2wv66="135"><br />
</div><div closure_uid_f2wv66="135">The show takes place at Provo High School and should have some really fun vendors. You can look <a href="http://www.countrycarouselboutique.org/">here</a> for more information about what kind of vendors will be at the show. It will also have the address and hours for the show. Amy and I have grand plans for our booth- it will be really cute! We are going with a late summer red gingham/sunflower theme. I am excited to see it all together. It doesn't matter how many times we put our "Princess Shack" up. I always get excited to see her. </div><div closure_uid_f2wv66="135"><br />
</div><div closure_uid_f2wv66="135">This will also be the big debut of my crochet purses! I found a great hat stand at the DI to hold my purses for me. We named him Timothy. After a little TLC, he is looking awesome and is ready to make his first public appearance. I will post pictures of Timoths and my new purses in a couple of days. Right now, I need to get busy tagging all of my stuff for the show. It's going to be a long night...</div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-25351289058739911972011-08-04T09:25:00.005-06:002011-08-04T09:47:44.294-06:00Frog PrinceI have a photo shoot on Saturday and I am so excited! I am really going to put my photographer friend to work. I have a link to her blog on my sidebar. Her name is Melinda and I have known her since we were eight years old. She is incredibly talented and I am so excited to get some new pictures of my babies and my products. I will post pictures as soon as I have them in hand!<br /><br />******************************************************<br />I am not the only one in my house with an unhealthy obsession with fairytales. Nadia has grown up on Disney and she is in love with princesses. Her most recent obsession is Tangled. We have watched that movie about 500 times this week alone. But one of her all time favorites is The Princess and The Frog. When we saw princess Tiana at Disneyland, Nadia acted like she was meeting her idol.<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637024792401642626" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1wSOdHLSYeY/Tjq8LrUrhII/AAAAAAAAAR0/doV-fDwawvA/s320/100_3202.jpg" /> Aren't those dresses cute? I wish I had gotten better pictures of them. Amy made matching pillowcase dresses for all three of my girls to wear to Disneyland. They had Minnie Mouse head appliqued on the front. I got 10,000 complements on my cute girls!<br /><br />The Princess and the Frog was always one of my favorite fairy tales, too. When I heard that Disney was coming out with a movie telling that story, I decided to make my own frog prince.<br /><br /><br /><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637024004255622482" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sfF2EpXQBQc/Tjq7dzQBpVI/AAAAAAAAARs/0QZmuN7Da5U/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B259.jpg" />This little guy was actually inspired by a pattern that I found on-line, but I changed it up a little to suit my crochet style and added the crown. </p><br /><br /><p>Now it is your turn to share. What is your favorite fairytale?<br /></p>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-49960339984822258872011-07-26T22:28:00.007-06:002011-07-26T23:15:08.157-06:00My photography skills really need some work!I had a product development week about a month ago when I made a bunch of new things to offer in my shop and at shows. I was getting kind of tired of making the same old things over and over again. I made some really cute things and meant to get some good pictures of them to put in my shop and to blog about here. Like many of my good intentions, it didn't go quite as planned. I brought all of my new products to the Freedom Festival and they were really well received. So well, in fact, that I sold them all before I had a chance to take pictures, so I need to make them all again.<br /><br /><br />Since I don't have pictures of new products to show, I will show you what I have been up to for the last couple of weeks.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YGi11BR9XSM/Ti-UM1kr0tI/AAAAAAAAARU/JbNHfJ6djR8/s1600/100_3425.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633884607124067026" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YGi11BR9XSM/Ti-UM1kr0tI/AAAAAAAAARU/JbNHfJ6djR8/s320/100_3425.jpg" /></a> My twins turned one today! They are my last babies, so I am playing dress up with them every opportunity I have. I made everything in this picture: the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">pettiskirts</span>, the shirts, the hats, the rocking horses, even the babies! I thought it all turned out so cute! Nobody spends such a crazy amount of time making outfits for their kids birthdays, but I really have the "I don't know when to stop" disease, so I did. You can't really tell, but the hats are the same fabric as the numbers on their shirts. I plan to have professional pictures taken in these outfits, so there will be a better view to come. It really is all about the pictures.<br /><br /><br /><br />The rocking horses were unfinished wood. I painted them (well, actually, I got Patrick to paint them for me) and then I decoupaged patterned paper on them. I am thinking of gluing 1" ribbon streamers along the mane. What do you think? Too much?<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LGQ6PKzNLss/Ti-UMjlxmBI/AAAAAAAAARM/vw_emMfheyY/s1600/100_3434.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633884602296801298" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LGQ6PKzNLss/Ti-UMjlxmBI/AAAAAAAAARM/vw_emMfheyY/s320/100_3434.jpg" /></a> This is the cake. It is supposed to be a teddy bear picnic theme. The bears were originally supposed to be wearing party hats, but there were a few problems in the execution. I am not a cake decorator, so I was pretty pleased at the end result of this cake. I decided that the secret to successful cake decorating is in the icing. I made the Wilton <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">buttercream</span> icing recipe and it worked beautifully. It requires a shocking amount of butter and shortening, but has the perfect texture for piping details. The side had a basket weave piped on it. I had no idea how to do one, so I googled it. It looks a little homespun, but I don't think that is a terrible thing when a picnic basket is your inspiration. Each of the babies got their own teddy bear for a smash cake.<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633887899827580226" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OqfuLFwyf04/Ti-XMf2YLUI/AAAAAAAAARc/1kAMu_VMgvE/s320/100_3441.jpg" />The babies were cranky-pants the day of the party because they took crappy naps that morning, so they didn't really get into the spirit of the smash cake concept.<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633888639784952274" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8E75YZsWYsg/Ti-X3kZ9odI/AAAAAAAAARk/d-u5sKhBI_s/s320/100_3451.jpg" /> After everyone else had their cake and the attention had died down a little bit, I put Chloe in the high chair and let her have a second attempt at her cake. The second time, she attacked it with reckless abandon and made a mess that any one year old would be proud of.<br /><br />I am, once again, wishing my photography skills were better. I didn't even get pictures of the decorations (pink and purple tissue paper poufs hanging from the trees) or the centerpieces (pink and purple candies in glasses that looked like ice cream sodas on a bed of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">hand punched</span> confetti flowers)! Really, what good is it to have the "I don't know when to stop" disease if I can't manage to take a decent picture of my crazy excess?<br /><br />Anyway, I am done party planning and playing dress-up for the moment, so I guess I will go back to work on making my new products for a second time. I really will get pictures before I sell them this time. Really. Seriously. I mean it....Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-78438332535506934272011-06-28T10:21:00.004-06:002011-06-28T10:59:09.999-06:00July 4th BBQI usually have a great 4<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> of July tradition. I invite myself to my sister's house, which just happens to be on Main Street in <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Hyrum</span>, and watch the small town parade go by while sitting on her front lawn. The kids get giant bags of candy, and I get to hang out in the shade and chat with the grown-ups. We usually stay long enough to grill some burgers and then head home in time to walk up the street and gate-crash the country club for some fireworks. Basically, I spend the day going to parties where I invited myself. I am a little sad (and my husband is a lot sad) that I will be breaking with tradition this year and will be making the 4<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> a working holiday. It means I won't be able to see my three little girls dressed in their cute matching dresses at the parade.<br /><br />Here's the deal with the craft show circuit. People gather on holidays. Most people have the day off of work. They all go out with their families to festivals and shows together. That means that if I am going to have any luck selling my stuff, I need to work the holidays. This means I have spent the last two Thanksgivings setting up a booth to be ready for Black Friday. Now July 4<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> is going to the cause, too. I'm just glad that my husband's birthday isn't really the national holiday that he thinks it is or I would really be in the dog house.<br /><br />I figured if I can't be there to celebrate with my family, I can at least post pictures of what I am missing.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MYSsscuNHFU/TgoAIO1JzfI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/ClACRjWQmc4/s1600/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B014.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5623307226145476082" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MYSsscuNHFU/TgoAIO1JzfI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/ClACRjWQmc4/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B014.jpg" /></a><br />OK- we don't actually make our own french fries, but you get the point.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gtdVOqZ8Wco/TgoAHw6_oPI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/ojI6VYgwnko/s1600/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B017.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5623307218116911346" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gtdVOqZ8Wco/TgoAHw6_oPI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/ojI6VYgwnko/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B017.jpg" /></a> This is how I like my burger. Nothing fancy for me. I also made a super-cute hot dog, but you will have to wait until Labor Day for that one. I am too lazy to pull it out, take a picture and fight with my computer to get it to upload into the right place. Besides, my camera battery is dead. Maybe I will be a more organized/motivated person when I don't have three kids in diapers. <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5623307229395866114" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4OgnBNt1QSI/TgoAIa8G0gI/AAAAAAAAARE/Y73vAQ-tWoQ/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B201.jpg" />No cookout is complete without an ice cream cone at the end! I make these in a variety of flavors and they have rattles in them. It is the best kind of ice cream for a baby because it doesn't melt and make a giant mess.</div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>I guess I should plug my show now. I will be at the Freedom Festival on July 1, 2 and 4<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span>. It is in Provo so, of course, it doesn't run on Sunday. How great is it that, in America, we are so patriotic that we celebrate our independence day with a full week of car shows, carnivals, beauty pageants, parades, fireworks, concerts, hot air balloon shows, golf tournaments, essay contests.... the list goes on and on. This is one of the biggest July 4<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> celebrations in the state and it should be lots of fun for the whole family. If you live in the Utah County direction, make sure you stop by my booth to say "hi"! </div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-83077087179898162302011-06-24T10:17:00.002-06:002011-06-24T10:26:10.572-06:00South Ogden DaysI am off to South Ogden for a show today. This should be a fun festival. There is a car show, a carnival, a parade, a mud volleyball tournament and fireworks. I love fireworks. And the mud volleyball should be pretty funny to watch, too. I am looking forward to spending a couple of days sitting in the nice weather, now that summer has finally decided to make an appearance, and eating fair food. If you are looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend, stop by and check it out! The info about times and location is on my sidebar. You can also see a schedule of events <a href="http://www.southogdencity.com/index.php/special_events/south_ogden_days/">here.</a>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-89423928249780078122011-06-08T12:50:00.003-06:002011-06-08T13:01:54.311-06:00Mmmm...mmmm...good!One of my favorite lunches is a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup. The soup is really more of a dipping sauce for the sandwich. There is something about the crispy, buttery bread with the gooey cheese dipped into the creamy, savory soup. All of the kids love it, too. Even the babies like it if I cut the sandwich into tiny pieces and dip it in soup for them.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DgZeCoexCag/Te_Eq3Sy5wI/AAAAAAAAAQs/4dlNbNMPcPM/s1600/100_3396.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615923501030631170" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DgZeCoexCag/Te_Eq3Sy5wI/AAAAAAAAAQs/4dlNbNMPcPM/s320/100_3396.jpg" /></a> I was recently at a craft show and I saw a lady who was selling cans of soup. Her workmanship left a lot to be desired and she used a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">styrofoam</span> cylinder to hold the shape. I could tell, because you could see it through the spaces in the stitching. It inspired me to do better. This is what I came up with. <br /><br />I could never let my babies play with a toy with a styrofoam core because they would bite pieces off with their four little teeth. I use tight stitches and a structured yarn so that mine will hold it's shape in it's own. I have even thrown my toys in the washing machine to see if they would lose their shape. They came out clean and looking perfect.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7OfqakQZuLk/Te_Eqo4A74I/AAAAAAAAAQk/m1CheqwX5hk/s1600/100_3398.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615923497160208258" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7OfqakQZuLk/Te_Eqo4A74I/AAAAAAAAAQk/m1CheqwX5hk/s320/100_3398.jpg" /></a> I was thinking the soup would be fun in other flavors, too. How cute would it be to give a can of chicken soup to a sick friend in the hospital on diet restrictions? Or a can of mushroom soup to my mother who made a different casserole with a mushroom soup base for dinner five nights a week when I was growing up? It would even be a cute and unexpected rattle for a baby shower! Now it's your turn to tell me about your favorite soup!</div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-11685610642369622422011-05-30T10:14:00.003-06:002011-05-30T10:27:16.964-06:00Bonjour!This is Pierre. He started out as kind of a joke. Katie told me that I should make french toast and I asked her how I could make french toast look different from regular toast. This is what we came up with:<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VTG_d-ssNpA/TePC5LoHlfI/AAAAAAAAAQY/BUgxUj5QxPs/s1600/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B169.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612543848263161330" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VTG_d-ssNpA/TePC5LoHlfI/AAAAAAAAAQY/BUgxUj5QxPs/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B169.jpg" /></a> When he was done, I decided to photograph him and put him in my Etsy shop. Since photography isn't my special skill, I decided that it would be fun to find pictures of French landmarks on-line and take pictures of him standing in front of them.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CzTzPc4QxwU/TePC4m_q36I/AAAAAAAAAQQ/uHntUeA3SbQ/s1600/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B170.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612543838429831074" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CzTzPc4QxwU/TePC4m_q36I/AAAAAAAAAQQ/uHntUeA3SbQ/s320/Nadia%2527s%2BPlace%2BPictures%2B170.jpg" /></a> I had no idea at the time that he would become one of my biggest sellers in my Etsy shop. I have sold dozens of him and shipped him all over the country and to a couple of countries in Europe. Last week a cute lady ordered him from my Etsy shop and asked if I could have him arrive quickly because she was leaving on a vacation to France and wanted to take pictures of him in front of real French landmarks. I squealed with delight when I read this and asked her if she would mind sending a couple of her photos my way. She said she would be happy to. I really hope she does. I can't wait to see them!<br /></div><br /><br /><div>In other news, I updated my sidebar with my 2011 show line-up. I will be really busy, but I am excited to try some new shows and see what happens!</div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-1976876321759259432011-05-29T11:35:00.010-06:002011-05-30T10:30:54.690-06:00Tea Party!I am never going to win any awards for keeping my blog updated, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been very busy creating new things. I had a few "product development days" last week and came up with some really cute new things for my shop and have a really full show line-up for the summer and fall with some new shows that I am really excited about.<br /><br />But the thing that has really been the focus of my time and energy over the past couple weeks is getting ready for Nadia's birthday party. It started out like this:<br /><br />Katie: Let's have a tea party for Nadia's birthday!<br />Me: OK. We can invite her three little cousins and one friend over for a little party.<br />Katie: Great! I'll start planning the menu!<br /><br />What followed was a month of planning, baking, decorating, sewing and organizing for a party for 20 people. I really need to learn to control myself. And I have passed my disease down to Katie, who also has a tendency to go way overboard in the planning process as well.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OvgIXbER7zo/TeKE7o2lnEI/AAAAAAAAAPw/AKM1VATUvfs/s1600/100_3341.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612194245770583106" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OvgIXbER7zo/TeKE7o2lnEI/AAAAAAAAAPw/AKM1VATUvfs/s320/100_3341.jpg" /></a>This is the birthday girl. I made the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">pettiskirt</span>. And the shirt. And the hat, too. See what I mean about needing to learn to control myself? But she looks so cute that I just can't help it!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6TcZ41rlGnk/TeKE7X7G5gI/AAAAAAAAAPo/CU5gyk0gR0w/s1600/100_3344.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612194241226139138" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6TcZ41rlGnk/TeKE7X7G5gI/AAAAAAAAAPo/CU5gyk0gR0w/s320/100_3344.jpg" /></a> This is the view from behind so you can see the fabulous hat. I may be out of control with my ideas, but I really know how to stick to a budget. I made a hat for each of the little girls at the party from hats I found at the dollar store and flowers that were just sitting around my house. Total cost for 11 hats: $15.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YHkRXXjaO68/TeKE63iuFbI/AAAAAAAAAPg/OrubXLS9QMY/s1600/100_3359.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612194232533915058" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YHkRXXjaO68/TeKE63iuFbI/AAAAAAAAAPg/OrubXLS9QMY/s320/100_3359.jpg" /></a> These are all of the little girls at the party in their hats. It was so cute and the girls loved being all fancy. I didn't plan any games or anything, but you know your party is a success when the guests tell their mom that they want to have their birthday party at your house!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OhHKu3myTUA/TeKE6u2uaQI/AAAAAAAAAPY/IilXk4uwhfY/s1600/100_3363.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612194230201903362" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OhHKu3myTUA/TeKE6u2uaQI/AAAAAAAAAPY/IilXk4uwhfY/s320/100_3363.jpg" /></a> These are my babies. I made their <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">pettiskirts</span>, too, but they aren't quite finished. Their birthday is coming up and they will be fabulous for their pictures. Their party is going to be amazing, too. They are going to have a birthday cake with a "Teddy Bear Picnic" scene. See... told you I have a disease. I really can't help myself.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mETof8hX_Tc/TeKE6Ug1ABI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/RUN8FYUmtVo/s1600/100_3355.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612194223130738706" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mETof8hX_Tc/TeKE6Ug1ABI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/RUN8FYUmtVo/s320/100_3355.jpg" /></a>I really wish photography was one of my skills, but sadly, it is not. This is the table with all of the food. I am not a fan of baking, but Katie is, so she got to do a lot of the baking for the party. We had finger sandwiches (cucumber, egg salad, and PB&J), fruit skewers with mini raspberry muffins and dip. mini quiches, crumpets with clotted cream and jelly (there is a great story behind that which is worthy of it's own blog post), assorted tea cookies, strawberry lemonade, and sherbet punch. All of it was served on my fancy display pieces that I have sitting around because they are all a part of my booth display. <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612198467078174146" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l_vRyYJ_0V0/TeKIxWcvtcI/AAAAAAAAAP4/9-rRdRrxsj4/s320/100_3336.jpg" />Nadia got in on the baking action the day before the party. Don't you love the chef hat and apron? She insists on wearing them every time she helps out in the kitchen. Amy made them and you can buy them from her <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Etsy</span> shop. (The link is on my sidebar.)</div><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>Of course, there were cupcakes baked in teacups, big tissue paper poofs hanging from the tree branches, tables with cute eyelet tablecloths and teacup centerpieces with fresh flowers cut from my yard, and a canopy draped with flower garlands and a chandelier hanging from the center. Of course, almost all of this was stuff from my booth. Total cost of decorations: $3. </div><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>Now that that party is over and I'm done homeschooling Katie for the summer, I will post some pictures of all of my new stuff for my shop and put up info about my upcoming shows on the sidebar. </div></div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-33691405459545159062010-11-24T14:29:00.003-07:002010-11-24T14:33:54.971-07:00Thanksgiving PiesI just helped my 13 year old daughter, Katie, make her very first pumpkin pie. They are still in the oven, so I don't know how they turned out, but the house smells heavenly! <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TO2D2VIv3kI/AAAAAAAAAOY/gyAB4lLfyms/s1600/100_2897.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 210px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543231685772959298" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TO2D2VIv3kI/AAAAAAAAAOY/gyAB4lLfyms/s320/100_2897.jpg" /></a> In honor of the occasion, I thought I would post pictures of some pies that I made last week. They don't smell nearly as good and I sure hope Katie's pies taste better, but I think they are cute.<br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TO2D1pIs9PI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/EVPctYL6UdY/s1600/100_2895.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 205px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543231673961608434" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TO2D1pIs9PI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/EVPctYL6UdY/s320/100_2895.jpg" /></a> Pumpkin pie is my <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">favorite</span> to eat, but I love looking at a cute cherry pie with a trellis top!</div><div>Happy Thanksgiving!!!<br /><div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-56427354528385188202010-11-22T14:31:00.004-07:002010-12-17T12:51:04.024-07:00Lil' Brown SugarsI am so excited about an opportunity that has come my way. At a recent show that I did, a really cute girl saw my booth and emailed me. She is opening a bakery in Santaquin and will have a small gift shop area. She wanted to know if I was interested in selling my hats in her shop. I have never offered my stuff in a store before, but I thought I would give it a try.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TOrhaWC6YgI/AAAAAAAAAOA/5pKjiSXhwbo/s1600/lil%2Bbrown%2Bsugar.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 199px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542490134143459842" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TOrhaWC6YgI/AAAAAAAAAOA/5pKjiSXhwbo/s320/lil%2Bbrown%2Bsugar.jpg" /></a> The bakery is Lil' Brown Sugars Bakery. Amy and I stopped by today to drop off our stuff and it is adorable. In addition to having baked goods, she will have a little gift shop area, an espresso bar, and a lunch menu. It isn't open quite yet- she is waiting for the last of her construction to be finished- but it will be open by the end of this week. Amy and I can't wait to go back down after it is open to have lunch.<br />The address is:<br /><a onmousedown="'UntrustedLink.bootstrap($(this)," href="http://bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&mid=8100&rtp=adr.%7Epos._340+East+Main+%231+%2C+Santaquin%2C+UT%2C+84655&lvl=16&sty=r&rtop=0%7E0%7E0%7E&mode=D" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">340 East Main #1 </a>Santaquin, UT, 84655<br />It is really easy to find. It is just off of the Santaquin exit on I-15.<br />So, if anyone is in the Santaquin area, or driving through on your way to somewhere else, be sure to stop by for a salad or cupcake and check it out!Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-67273076829953222282010-11-17T09:52:00.003-07:002010-11-17T10:44:19.110-07:00Short StackWe have a tradition in our family. Every time the kids have an event at school, like a parent teacher conference or band concert, we finish the evening with a pancake dinner at IHOP. It started out as a way to eat out on the cheap (expecially when they were running their kids eat free special) but it turned into a tradition that we all love. <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TOQIobPFq-I/AAAAAAAAAN4/h9_cfWgjaVY/s1600/100_2901.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5540562932171385826" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TOQIobPFq-I/AAAAAAAAAN4/h9_cfWgjaVY/s320/100_2901.jpg" /></a> This little creation is in honor of many, many pancake meals enjoyed together by my family.<br /><br />On another note, I currently have a booth at the Kottage Kupboard Boutique's "Candy Cane Lane" Christmas show. The details can be found on my sidebar. If you are in the Ogden area, stop by and check out the show. There is always some seriously good shopping to be found at this show and there is just over a month until Christmas!Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-78140485193385865032010-11-05T16:34:00.003-06:002011-05-30T10:28:51.232-06:00My New ModelsI haven't done much posting on my blog lately because I was working on a big project- making new models for my stuff. After 9 long months of some serious crafting, they were finally ready to make their debut. Meet Chloe Eva and Dominique Samantha.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHQMxsROI/AAAAAAAAANg/t2gwVmTa8tc/s1600/Twins52.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 280px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536198554322486498" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHQMxsROI/AAAAAAAAANg/t2gwVmTa8tc/s320/Twins52.jpg" /></a> Here they are modeling the latest in baby fashion- hats with bear ears. All of the babies will be wearing them this season. Don't let your little one be the only one at the playgroup wearing one of those boring hats without ears.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHP65FMdI/AAAAAAAAANY/EWds3__h8dw/s1600/Twins60.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 280px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536198549521641938" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHP65FMdI/AAAAAAAAANY/EWds3__h8dw/s320/Twins60.jpg" /></a> Unless they are wearing this. Beanie hats are a classic- they never go out of style. The thing that makes mine unique is the cute scalloped edge around the bottom. You will see a lot of imitators out there; crappy hats that are mass produced in a factory in China by an 8-year-old. I see them at every show where I have a booth. Trust me, my handmade hats are far superior and you won't have to feel guilty about human rights violations every time your child wears their hat.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHOWTIE-I/AAAAAAAAANQ/qxOoAIo58Gs/s1600/Twins57.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536198522518901730" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHOWTIE-I/AAAAAAAAANQ/qxOoAIo58Gs/s320/Twins57.jpg" /></a> Stepping down off my soapbox. See how cute the tops of their little heads are? I spend hours a day just staring at my new little models, thinking about what a good job I did in making them cute.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHOTvZx2I/AAAAAAAAANI/5lEbQlPmsxE/s1600/Twins44.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536198521832195938" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHOTvZx2I/AAAAAAAAANI/5lEbQlPmsxE/s320/Twins44.jpg" /></a> Speaking of cute, I still plan to use my old model whenever possible. She gets paid in flower <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">clippies</span> for that fabulous head of hair.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHNqShp8I/AAAAAAAAANA/-BIE59t-cPM/s1600/Twins02.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 280px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536198510705223618" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TNSHNqShp8I/AAAAAAAAANA/-BIE59t-cPM/s320/Twins02.jpg" /></a> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Awww</span>.... they're so cute when they are sleeping. Check out that huge ladybug rattle in front of them. It's really quite a small rattle, but the babies only weighed about five pounds each when this picture was taken so it looks big in comparison.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>As you can see, Chloe and Dominique have been hard at work since the moment they were born. They even went with me to several farmer's markets and craft shows for some live modeling gigs. The only problem was, people we to busy admiring the babies to even look at the stuff that I was selling so I had to fire them. Now they stay at home with daddy whenever possible.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I am all geared up for the Christmas season. I have updated the list of shows were I will have a booth and will be adding several new listings to my <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Etsy</span> shop. Stop by and take a look!!!</div></div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-34838645945175333572010-10-21T12:00:00.003-06:002010-10-21T12:10:19.217-06:00Pink Flower ChoicesThese are some light pink flower options to go with the black baby beanie. I photographed the flowers on the actual hat to give you an idea of the size in proportion to the hat. The picture quality isn't the greatest, but it is the best I can do with my camera.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMCAAg8dhaI/AAAAAAAAAM4/dRsjvdsJa0I/s1600/100_2832.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530561088742852002" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMCAAg8dhaI/AAAAAAAAAM4/dRsjvdsJa0I/s320/100_2832.jpg" /></a> Choice #1: This flower has light pink petals on the outside with white daisy petals on the inside. The center is a small white flower with a pink jewel center.<br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMCAAUplnUI/AAAAAAAAAMw/LYXy_ocZkhs/s1600/100_2831.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530561085442465090" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMCAAUplnUI/AAAAAAAAAMw/LYXy_ocZkhs/s320/100_2831.jpg" /></a> Choice #2: This flower isn't quite as light as the others, but I thought I would give you options. It is still a pretty pastel pink. The white petals in the center have a little glitter on the edges and the center of the flower is a pink pearl.<br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__x7v6TI/AAAAAAAAAMo/XDVxFP8CPk4/s1600/100_2830.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530561076123396402" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__x7v6TI/AAAAAAAAAMo/XDVxFP8CPk4/s320/100_2830.jpg" /></a> Choice #3: This flower has really pale pink daisy petals on the outside. The white petals in the middle have the slightly glittered edges. The center is a brad with a pink and white geometric design. I wish it photographed better, but it is a really cute flower.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__sbG1WI/AAAAAAAAAMg/Ggkbp3jhIiE/s1600/100_2829.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530561074644309346" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__sbG1WI/AAAAAAAAAMg/Ggkbp3jhIiE/s320/100_2829.jpg" /></a>Choice #4: This flower has the same pale pink petals as the last one, but the white petals don't have the glitter edges. The center of this flower is a pink pearl.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__SQv8MI/AAAAAAAAAMY/8zjeBdaFzXs/s1600/100_2828.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530561067621544130" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/TMB__SQv8MI/AAAAAAAAAMY/8zjeBdaFzXs/s320/100_2828.jpg" /></a>Choice #5: This flower has the same light pink petals as the first flower, but it also includes the white glitter petals. The pearl in the center of this one is white.</div><div><div> </div></div></div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-38788306764945623582010-05-05T12:02:00.002-06:002010-05-05T12:20:30.663-06:00Kottage Kupboard BoutiqueIt is time for the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kottage</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kupboard</span> Spring Boutique! I am so excited! Don't let all of the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">superfluous</span> K's in the name deter you. This is one of my favorite shows because the shopping is so fantastic there. It is also a dangerous show, because it is really hard to not spend more than I earn. The other vendors are so incredibly talented and they have such unique and well-made items. It almost makes me feel inadequate when I walk in the door. Almost. <br /><br />We set up for the show yesterday afternoon and I already found several items that I want to purchase. I found the cutest little pair of sandals for Nadia. I bought shoes for Nadia from this same vendor at the Christmas show, and they have been the best pair of shoes I ever bought. They do have <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">squeakers</span> in them which I promptly removed because the only people who think that hearing a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">squeak</span> every time their kids take a step is adorable are the delusional parents of that child. Everyone else is just annoyed by it. Anyhow, I am really hoping that the sandals are there when I go back after the show is open. I was tempted to take them and hide them so that nobody else would get to them first! The guy who makes gourmet jellies and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">carmel</span> sauces is there too, and I won't have to resort to any devious behaviors to get my hands on a jar of yummy <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">carmel</span> pecan sauce. Maybe my mom would like one for Mother's Day. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">Hmmm</span>.... <br /><br />The other booths are also fabulous. I don't think I will be winning any "Best Booth" awards at this show. (Speaking of which, Amy actually remembered to take pictures of our "Award Winning Booth Design" which I will post as soon as I have a copy of the photos!) After Amy and I finished setting up our booth yesterday, we wandered around a little bit and looked at some of the other booths and were so impressed at the fancy booth designs that we saw. But the sound of the power tools required to put these fabulous booths together was enough to deter us from wanting to go in that direction. At least we can take our entire booth apart by hand and fit it in one HUGE bag. <br /><br />If you would like to check out the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">fabulousness</span> that is this show, I have all of the info on the sidebar to the right. It opens today and runs through Saturday. It is at the Golden Spike Event Center in North Ogden. It is worth the drive!Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-37892952394618953952010-04-14T14:56:00.002-06:002010-04-14T15:11:22.860-06:00Blue Goose BoutiqueAmy and I will have a booth at the Blue Goose Boutique this week. I just set up the booth this morning. When I say I, I mean Amy did all of the heavy lifting and carrying of dozens of bins while I put the table cloths on the tables. I was complaining about how I couldn't carry any heavy stuff because of the twins when a lady, who is at least as pregnant as I am, walked by pushing a cart loaded up with about 15 wire mesh racks and four huge bins full of stuff. Boy, didn't I feel stupid. Anyhow, I digress.<br /><br />This show looks like it will be a really fun one with lots of talented vendors. I can't wait to stop by once it is all set up and see what all of the other vendors have to offer. I saw lots of familiar faces from vendors who have been in some of the shows we did last year, but I also saw lots of new faces too. <br /><br />Our "Princess Shack" is looking better than ever, all decked out for spring! It is hard to miss our booth. It is the only one with a roof that stands a couple feet higher than any other booth at the show. There are flower garlands climbing the poles of the roof and a fancy chandelier dangling from the center. The booth gets slightly more elaborate every time we set it up. I didn't bring my camera this morning, but I will take pictures when I stop by the show on Friday so that I can post pictures of our <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">handiwork</span>. Here are the details of the show so everybody can stop by and check it out. I guess if you are one of my fans from Europe or Australia, I will just have to understand if you can't make it.<br /><div align="center"><strong></strong> </div><div align="center"><strong>Terri's Blue Goose Boutique</strong></div><div align="center"><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Lehi</span> Legacy Center</div><div align="center">123 N. I took the photos on a background of the actual fabric that the dress is made from so that you can get an idea of what it all looks like together. Please forgive my photography skills. When I am rich and famous, I will invest in a really nice camera. Until then, this is what you get.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6eeASYQBrI/AAAAAAAAAMI/uASkLQkNiy4/s1600-h/100_2539.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499601726015154" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6eeASYQBrI/AAAAAAAAAMI/uASkLQkNiy4/s320/100_2539.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 1</strong>: This is my personal favorite. You can't tell in this photo, but the ladybug in the center of the flower is glittery. So cute! The yellow petals on the outside don't lay completely flat, but I think that is part of the charm in this flower.<br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed6EflMUI/AAAAAAAAAMA/aXVIXu3GhdY/s1600-h/100_2540.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499494919450946" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed6EflMUI/AAAAAAAAAMA/aXVIXu3GhdY/s320/100_2540.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 2:</strong> This is more of an <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">orangey</span> sunflower look. The flower has a pearl center. The yellow in the fabric is a darker yellow-orange, so flowers with a combination of yellows and orange look good with it.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed5QKKAjI/AAAAAAAAAL4/6D-tyuW4lLI/s1600-h/100_2541_00.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499480870945330" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed5QKKAjI/AAAAAAAAAL4/6D-tyuW4lLI/s320/100_2541_00.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 3:</strong> This flower has many layers of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">ruffly</span> petals. Each layer is a little darker than the last, with a big, shiny crystal in the middle. Did I mention that I love things that sparkle and shine?<br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed5LjmGSI/AAAAAAAAALw/wi7EuIxZBeY/s1600-h/100_2542.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499479635466530" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed5LjmGSI/AAAAAAAAALw/wi7EuIxZBeY/s320/100_2542.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 4:</strong> This is an all-yellow flower for all of you orange-haters out there. There is a pearl in the center of this one as well. This flower has a combination of rounded, ruffled, and pointed petals, to keep the textures interesting.<br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed4okUS6I/AAAAAAAAALo/8S7TjJIrAic/s1600-h/100_2543_00.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499470243253154" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed4okUS6I/AAAAAAAAALo/8S7TjJIrAic/s320/100_2543_00.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 5</strong>: Very similar to choice 2, but this one is more yellow than orange and it has that big crystal "<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">bling</span>" in the center.<br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed4CVEkqI/AAAAAAAAALg/RboDzIqG38I/s1600-h/100_2544_00.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451499459978760866" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S6ed4CVEkqI/AAAAAAAAALg/RboDzIqG38I/s320/100_2544_00.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 6: </strong>I added this one because I thought I would give a more traditional "<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">daisy</span>" choice. This one has large daisy petals on the outside, with smaller daisy petals on the inside and the big crystal.</div><div><div> </div></div></div></div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-42209869035955436282010-03-09T21:22:00.003-07:002010-03-18T16:59:22.365-06:00Flower ChoicesThese are the flowers that I made to go on the white hat to match the cute eyelet dress from Polka Dots and Posies. They all have a pearl in the center. Please forgive my photography skills (or lack, thereof!). The colors are not as true-to-life in these photos as they are in the professional photographs with the eyelet dress.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce6ZcYspI/AAAAAAAAALY/2L-IVbHurTw/s1600-h/100_2536.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446856262939095698" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce6ZcYspI/AAAAAAAAALY/2L-IVbHurTw/s320/100_2536.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 1</strong>: This flower is white around the outside layered with pink and white petals. The inner white petals have glittery edges. The photo doesn't do it justice. It shows up better on the hat because of the different textures.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce54wKeyI/AAAAAAAAALQ/qXWZ0pBZKeo/s1600-h/100_2535.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446856254163680034" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce54wKeyI/AAAAAAAAALQ/qXWZ0pBZKeo/s320/100_2535.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 2</strong>: Similar to first one, but it doesn't have the glittery white petals in the middle and the pink is slightly darker.<br /><br /><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce5SiyMVI/AAAAAAAAALI/ilTylNlRkQI/s1600-h/100_2534.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446856243907014994" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce5SiyMVI/AAAAAAAAALI/ilTylNlRkQI/s320/100_2534.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 3</strong>: This has a light pink on the outside with the glittery white and a darker pink in the middle.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce4zKTbFI/AAAAAAAAALA/dS73wf65KWg/s1600-h/100_2533.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446856235482836050" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce4zKTbFI/AAAAAAAAALA/dS73wf65KWg/s320/100_2533.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 4</strong>: This one is as close to the original flower in my hat listing as I could get with the materials I had available. The outer petals are exactly like the ones in the listing and the inside layers are similar with the pearl center.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce4jq51wI/AAAAAAAAAK4/_CUjzqjlZi4/s1600-h/100_2532.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5446856231324604162" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ORsn6aSWaiU/S5ce4jq51wI/AAAAAAAAAK4/_CUjzqjlZi4/s320/100_2532.jpg" /></a> <strong>Choice 5</strong>: OK-I lied. This one doesn't have a pearl center. It has a silver metalic brad in the center. But I think the all pink flower would be cute with the white hat and white eyelet dress for Easter. I can't change the center because everything is already glued into place, but I thought I would give you this option because it is cute, too.<br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-85373311544472364392010-02-26T08:51:00.002-07:002010-02-26T09:01:51.121-07:00Kottage KupboardI am really excited to announce the first show of my spring line-up. I will have a booth at the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kottage</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kupboard</span> Mother's Day show May 5-8 at the Golden Spike Arena in Ogden, Utah.<br />You can get more info on this show, including hours and directions, by visiting their website at <a href="http://www.kottagekupboard.com/">http://www.kottagekupboard.com/</a>.<br /><br />I participated in their Christmas show last year and it was one of the funnest shows that I did all year. There are a ton of really great vendors with really fun booth displays. They have a rigorous screening process for vendors that participate in their show, so the quality of items sold at the show is really high. I had a hard time not spending more than I made at the last show because there were so many fun things to buy.<br /><br />I will have a really light show schedule for the spring and I will probably not be doing any shows over the summer, but I plan to have a full line-up in the fall. So, if you want to stop by and see my goods before fall, this will be one of your only chances!<br /><br />On a different note, the pregnancy is going well and I found out this week that I will be having two girls! I am excited because this means I will have two new models for all of my fun stuff! My poor teenage boy will really learn to understand girls, growing up the only boy with four little sisters. I told him that he will make a great husband someday.Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6885053218551271687.post-65473296969015855912010-02-06T12:38:00.002-07:002010-02-06T12:45:47.706-07:00Yep! I'm still here!I haven't updated for a while. The holiday season was crazy for me. I did a lot of really great shows and was very busy with orders from my Etsy shop. It was a great time of growth and I also learned a lot. I will be much better prepared for the holiday rush next year.<br /><br />After I got my last order shipped the week of Christmas, I got some exciting news. I am pregnant again! But the excitement doesn't stop there. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was having twins, so when I went to the doctor for my first appointment, I asked him to check to make sure there was just one baby in there. I will never doubt my gut feelings again. I am having identical twins, due in August. <br /><br />I still plan on growing my little business while I grow my little babies, but I will be slowing down a bit. My Etsy shop is alive and well and I plan to add new items soon, now that I have time to sit down and create new patterns. I am also looking into some spring boutiques and will be announcing my spring lineup soon. Please stay tuned during this exciting time while both my business and family grow!Carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06291139587953653188noreply@blogger.com2
